Individual time, familiar activities and local connections
Residents take part in Outreach, a local group, swimming and weekly shopping. Shopping is supported 1:1, giving each resident individual time with their key person. The home has good local connections and good public transport for community access.

The Royal supports adults with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, diabetes, challenging behaviour and complex needs.
Everyday life is shaped around each resident's choices. Activities include Outreach, a local group, swimming and weekly shopping supported 1:1, which gives residents individual time with their key person. Good local connections and public transport also support access to the wider community.
All seven bedrooms are en-suite, and residents can decorate their bedroom as they wish so that it feels like their own space.
The Royal provides 24-hour support. Overnight, there is one waking member of staff and one sleep-in member of staff. Higher support can be provided where appropriate funding is in place.
Each person is treated as an individual and is free to live the life they choose with the appropriate support. Independence is very important at The Royal and is continually promoted and emphasised.

Most residents have lived at The Royal for a number of years. The home is in a Grade II listed building on Stoke Road, formerly The Royal Arms public house.
