Seabreeze runs two programmes for children and young people with disabilities: Short Breaks on Saturdays and school holidays, and Big Norfolk Holiday Fun, specialist SEND holiday sessions when the funded programme is running.

A Short Break gives children and young people the chance to spend time away from their parents or carers — trying new activities, making friends, learning new skills and becoming more independent. At the same time, parents and carers can have a break.

What parents and carers usually ask
Short Breaks at Seabreeze are for children and young people aged 8–16 with disabilities. Our trained staff support children with autism, learning disabilities, epilepsy and complex needs, and support is shaped around each child and family's needs and preferences — please tell us about your child when you enquire.
Short Breaks are activities for children and young people with disabilities, commissioned by Norfolk County Council. They come in a range of shapes and sizes: activities available to everyone, or activities with trained staff and specialist equipment, taking place in the family home, at a centre or in the community.
Sessions run for 6 hours on Saturdays and during school holidays, at Seabreeze, 48 Wellesley Road, Great Yarmouth, NR30 1EX, and at North Denes Primary School, Jellicoe Road, Great Yarmouth, NR30 4HF.

Our trained staff support children and young people with:

Lunch is not included with standard Short Break sessions, so children should bring a packed lunch.
Please also send along suitable clothing for the weather and anything your child needs during the day, such as medication or comfort items.
Short Breaks at Seabreeze can be accessed in three ways:
- Direct Payments
- Use your Short Breaks funding or direct payments to book sessions with us.
- Private payment
- Families can also arrange and pay for sessions privately.
- Commissioned services
- Short Breaks are also commissioned by Norfolk County Council.
